Carlton Fisk

Up to Bat at the Hall of Fame

UNH's Carlton Fisk just hit another home run. Fisk, who holds the major league record for most home runs by a catcher, will be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame this July 23. Fisk attended UNH for a year on a basketball scholarship; he played both sports here before being drafted by the Red Sox.

His wife, Linda Foust Fisk '69, graduated from UNH with a degree in communication. Fisk, who grew up in Charlestown, N.H., spent 24 years in the major leagues, playing 11 seasons for the Red Sox and the rest for the Chicago White Sox.

Fisk returned last year as a special assistant to general manager Dan Duquette. And what hat will this son of New England wear when he is inducted? A Red Sox cap, of course!
