UNH Magazine in a nutshell

An award-winning magazine published three times per year by the University of New Hampshire, UNH Magazine is produced by the alumni publications staff at UNH Advancement.

Published in fall, winter and spring, the magazine is distributed to 127,000 alumni, parents of current students, faculty and staff members, donors, New Hampshire elected officials and state business leaders. (Subscription information is below.)

A bit of history: Many alumni remember the New Hampshire Alumnus, the university's alumni magazine for 60 years. But the Alumnus was actually not UNH's first magazine. That honor goes to a monthly called the Enaichsee, (a combination of the initials of the college, N.H.C.) founded in 1871. The name was changed in 1894 to The New Hampshire College Monthly, which was published until 1911, when it was replaced with The New Hampshire, now the student newspaper.

The New Hampshire State Alumnus debuted in 1924. The Alumnus ran until 1991, while its companion class notes publication—aptly named the Alumni Companion—was published from 1988 until Fall 1998, when it was replaced by the current UNH Magazine.

The magazine has won 21 awards:
