Help Is at Hand

When can I plant peas? How should I prune my apple tree? What's the nutritional value of Chinese cabbage? For New Hampshire residents, answers to these and other questions about growing things--families as well as lawns and gardens--are just a phone call away at UNH Cooperative Extension's Family, Home and Garden Info Line: 1-877-EXT-GROW (1-877-398-4769).

The Education Center opened last year, and the information lines are staffed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays. Volunteers provide answers to questions involving food safety and preservation, nutrition, household pest problems, wildlife, backyard livestock, home water systems, tree care, child development and family finances.
