Ski team members Dan Guiney '12 and Marlijne Cook '09 each took first place at the Atomic Sprints on Dec. 6. At the TD Banknorth Eastern Cup Opener on Dec. 20-21, the team placed fourth. On Jan. 23-24, the men's alpine team took first place in the giant slalom and the slalom, and took third-place overall, at the Bates Winter Carnival.

Women's gymnastics was undefeated, with a 6-0 record, after winning a tri-meet at Bridgeport on Jan. 24. In all three meets so far this season, UNH took first place in all four events.

Women's ice hockey was 14-5-5 overall, 9(1)-2-3 in Hockey East in late January. The team won five of its six games in January.

Men's indoor track and field beat Maine 111-62 on Dec. 15, came in first over College of the Holy Cross and Quinnipiac University on Jan. 18, and beat four colleges on Jan. 24.

Women's indoor track and field beat Maine 96-84 on Dec. 15 and placed first in a tri-meet on Jan. 18 at the newly renovated Paul Sweet Oval against the College of the Holy Cross and Quinnipiac University.

Men's ice hockey was 11-8-4 overall, 7-6-3 in Hockey East at press time. In January, the team beat Maine 5-4 in an away game, tied (2-2) and won (3-2) games against UMass Amherst, beat Dartmouth 6-4 and then lost two games to BU 0-5 and 1-3.

Women's basketball was 5-15 overall, 3-3 in America East, winning an America East game against Albany 66-54 on Jan. 24.

Men's basketball team was 8-11 overall, 3-4 in America East. On Jan. 28, the 'Cats beat Stony Brook 71-60 in an away game.

Women's swimming and diving was 4-5 overall, 0-2 in America East in late January. On Jan. 23, they beat Maine 180-115 at home. Jessica Little '12 was named America East Female Swimmer of the Week.

The football team, ranked No. 8, ended its season with a 36-34 loss at Northern Iowa in the CAA FCS Championship quarterfinals. The team was 10-3 overall, 6-2 in the CAA conference. See a story on UNH football on Page 14.
